The caregiver reportedly disregarded health and safety regulations that mandate tigers be kept entirely apart from the access area when feeding the large animal.
According to accounts, the zookeeper failed to seal the safety door, allowing the animal to attack the guy and maul him over the course of several minutes.
The guy was taken to the hospital as soon as emergency personnel got on the scene. Unfortunately, there was no way to rescue him.
