‘White and Black Thing’ Is Mathew Knowles’ Reaction to Beyoncé’s CMA Rebuke… This Place Has a Sultry Past

Mathew Knowles, Beyoncé’s father, is not too shocked that her daughter has received little love from the Country Music Association, and he believes that race plays a role in this.

As Bey’s father tells TMZ, Considering his daughter’s past with the awards event, he is not shocked that her country album “Cowboy Carter” earned no CMA nominations.

According to Mathew, Beyoncé’s performance with the Dixie Chicks at the 2016 CMA Awards wasn’t well received, and the CMAs never expressed regret to her.

Despite having one of the year’s biggest country records, Mathew claims that Beyoncé’s candidacy is “showing it still comes down to white and black.”

This is how Mathew perceives things. “There’s more white people in America and unfortunately they don’t vote based on ability and achievements, it’s still sometimes a white and black thing.”
