Who Were the Victims of Gilgo Beach? Facts Regarding the Seven Women Rex Heuermann Is Accused of Killing

 

Shannan Gilbert, the bodies of Waterman, Barthelemy, Costello, and Brainard-Barnes were found in Gilgo Beach, an oceanfront suburb on Long Island, N.Y.

A year later, her bones were also discovered near Gilgo Beach. Forensic pathologist Michael Baden said that her death was consistent with homicidal strangulation.

Despite police believing she died accidently from exposure or drowning.

Police found the remains of four additional people in the same region as the seven women Heuermann is accused of killing (he has entered a not guilty plea). The identities of three of them are still unknown.

Netflix’s Gone Girls docuseries, which debuted on March 31, focuses on Heuermann’s alleged killing spree and the case that followed.
