Brainard-Barnes disappeared on July 9, 2007, following a night of escort employment in New York City.
As stated by Barthelemy’s family, her sister and a friend also said they got calls from an unidentified male a few days after the 25-year-old vanished.
Days after Barthelemey’s remains were discovered, authorities discovered Brainard-Barnes’ body on Gilgo Beach, where she was strapped to a belt.
Heuermann was charged with second-degree murder in connection with her death in 2023 when DNA evidence later connected him to her murder.
