Why is Putin assembling troops along Finland’s border? NATO is alarmed by a military buildup akin to the lead-up to the war in Ukraine.

Emil Kastehelmi, a Finnish military analyst who is keeping tabs on the situation, told SVT that this is an indication of increased activity.

Three sizable warehouses that have been constructed in Petrozavodsk, around 100 miles from the Finnish border, are thought by analysts to be armored vehicle storage halls.

According to the most recent photos from late April, the current halls could accommodate about 50 people, and another is being built.

Images from the far north seem to indicate that the once-closed Severomorsk-2 airbase is currently operational, with renovations apparently finished in the last several years.

The runway, located less than 70 miles from Norway and 110 miles from the Finnish border, has a number of helicopters stationed in bays off it.

Kyiv claims that the airbase at Olenya, which is around 90 kilometers from Finland, is fully operational and that Russian planes stationed there are conducting raids on targets in Ukraine.
