According to Fuel ARC, three Tesla models—the Model Y, Model Y Long range, and Model 3 Performance—meet this very strict requirement of having at least 85% domestic content.
With 80 percent domestic content, Ford’s Mustang GT AT, GT 5.0L, and GT Coupe Premium are not far behind, and Honda’s Passport AWD is not far behind at 76.5 percent.
Some Tesla cars are excluded; the Model S and Model X only have 80 percent domestic material, while the Cybertruck has 82.5 percent.
The action has drawn criticism on social media from some who claim it is obvious bias for Tesla and Elon Musk.
