He hosted “Tic-Tac-Dough” from 1978 to 1985, but it was undoubtedly his breakthrough program.
Along with “High Rollers,” he was the host of “The Last Word,” “Headline Chasers,” “Trivial Pursuit,” and “The Great Getaway Game.”
In 2006, Wink was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Memphis, the city where he first appeared, also bestowed upon him a similar honor on Beale Street.
When singer Crystal Gayle received her star, which was positioned directly next to his, he was also the center of attention.
Wink is survived by Sandra, his wife of 49 years, three kids, and several grandchildren.
He was ninety-one.
