With fifty million dollars in the bank, Macaulay Culkin legitimately used his parents’ names as beneficiaries on a trust fund.

Despite his son’s millions of dollars in savings, Culkin’s mother was unable to pay their rent because she was spending all her money on legal bills,

as the actor disclosed during the heated court battle over the children and Culkin’s wealth. In the end, Culkin had to resort to extreme measures to fix the problem.

Instead of ‘divorcing’ his parents, as has been widely reported, he chose to remove them from his trust fund so he could access the money and choose an executor to manage it going forward.

“Essentially, I had millions and millions of dollars in the bank and my mother couldn’t pay the rent because she was spending all of her money on lawyers,” Culkin recalled in a prior interview with Esquire.

Our eviction from the flat was imminent. The only way I could access that money was to remove my father’s name from it. Since I wanted to avoid any complications, I decided to remove both of their names.
