The three people were first arrested in 2012 for the murder of at least three women, with perhaps more unidentified victims.
They were dubbed “the cannibals of Garanhaus” after the neighborhood where the killings had occurred.
According to the Brazilian news agency G1, two of their victims were Gisele Helena da Silva, age 31, and Alexandra Falcon Silva, age 20.
According to reports, these murders were committed as a “purification ritual.”
