In June 2014, German traveler Lars Mittank made his first international journey, accompanying several friends to the Golden Sands resort in Varna, Bulgaria.
What happened after this straightforward excursion has made Mittank the most well-known missing tourist in the world since, to this day, no one has been able to locate him after the mysterious occurrence.
He reached his destination on June 30 of that year, and a week later, he was having drinks with pals at a tavern on the Black Sea Coast when he got into a fight with four football fans from Bayern Munich.
On their last day of vacation, Mittank, a supporter of the opposing Bundesliga team Werder Bremen, got into a fight with the supporters and eventually parted ways with his pals in the evening.
