According to Globo TV News, the youngest passenger to die on board was three-year-old Liz Ibba dos Santos. She was traveling with her father, 41-year-old Rafael Fernando dos Santos,
and they were supposed to spend Brazilian Father’s Day in Santa Caterina. Other victims included an elderly couple, José Cloves Arruda and Maria Auxiliadora vaz de Arruda.
Along with other physicians on their way to a conference, the aircraft also included Mariana Comiran Belim and Arianne Albuquerque Estavan Risso, two clinical oncology residents from the Cascavel Cancer Hospital (Uopeccan).
To honor the young physicians, the hospital released a statement stating that they “treated all patients with great dedication, affection, and respect.”
“Our ombudsman offices frequently praised the two,” the statement said. It was obvious that they were both deeply committed to their work.
“Now, all that is left for us is the longing and memories of two young doctors who left us too soon.”
