Speaking directly to the media, Trump surprises with a novel defense of Biden—and it doesn’t bode well for Kamala Harris.

Trump talked at Mar-a-Lago for almost an hour as Vice President Harris eluded reporters.

On Thursday, Donald Trump spoke to the media directly, something that Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumed Democratic presidential candidate, has so far declined to do.

In the first news conference he has had since Joe Biden resigned as his party’s presidential nominee, Trump seemed to support Biden on many occasions.

“From a constitutional standpoint — from any standpoint you look at — they took the presidency away,” said he. “Whether he could win or he couldn’t win, he had the right to run, and they took it away.”

Reports that Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) personally approached Joe Biden and accusations that he was threatened with the 25th Amendment were mentioned by Trump.

Harris ascended to the top spot on the Democratic Party’s presidential ticket when Biden, naturally, caved to the pressure campaign and dropped out of the race last month.
