A billion-dollar energy corporation is being investigated for a potential connection to one of the wildfires in Los Angeles.
Southern California Edison, a division of the massive energy company Edison International, acknowledged that a short circuit occurred in its infrastructure on Tuesday night, January 7.
The Hurst Fire started at the same time as this. However, whether the occurrence occurred before to or after to the fire’s onset is still unknown.
According to the firm, the conductor was discovered at the Eagle Rock Sylmar 220 kV circuit, and the Hurst Fire has so far destroyed 800 acres of property.
“On 10 January 10, Southern California Edison (SCE) filed an Electric Safety Incident Report (ESIR) related to the Hurst Fire once SCE learned.
Fire agencies are investigating whether SCE equipment was involved in the ignition, which is a triggering event for reporting.” According to a news statement from Edison International.
