The jeers he received from the audience, however, did not impress spectators. Some said it was “not fair” and “very uncommon in cycling events” to hear that kind of stuff.
Others said that, considering Pidcock’s’remarkable talent and persistence’ to recover from a puncture that had reduced him to ninth position, the jeers were’really not in keeping with the Olympic spirit’.
Although Pidcock won his second gold medal in this event at the Olympics and Team GB’s second gold in Paris 2024, fans believed it was “incredibly poor” and not acceptable for the booing to continue.
