Center for Education Statistics, said, “The nation’s report card is out and the news is not good.” Venezuelan TPS is canceled by the Trump administration.
According to a document acquired by ABC News, the Trump Administration has revoked the extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelans who were granted the status.
A document approved Tuesday evening by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem terminates the extension that previous Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas had signed only days before he quit earlier this month.
The protections granted to Venezuelans who obtained TPS in 2021 will last until September, while those who obtained TPS in 2023 will do so until April.
Noem has until Saturday to decide whether to extend protections for Venezuelans who were granted status in 2023; if she declines, their TPS statuses would automatically be renewed by six months.
