Chris Evans is organizing a homecoming for the MCU. According to The Wrap, the actor who Marvel fans know best as Steve “Captain America” Rogers is making a comeback for the forthcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
As of right now, it’s unclear whether Evans will return to his pre-MCU position as Johnny Storm, the Fantastic Four’s Human Torch, or play a completely other character.
Entertainment Weekly reached out to representatives for Marvel and Evans, but they did not reply. Evans’ first major break came with the 2005 release of the first Fantastic Four movie.
Which turned him from a budding star of small dramas and adolescent sex comedy into a sought-after heartthrob and box office success.
Two years later, in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, he played Johnny Storm again. He never quite recovered from that first bout of comedic adaption fever.
