According to science, women sleep better than men when they are around dogs.

Additionally, 57% of these ladies slept in the same bed as a human companion, while the remaining women did not. [1]

Hoffman also learned why dogs seemed to be the most comfortable sleeping partners. The first explanation is that dogs’ sleeping habits are more like those of people than those of cats.

“It is not surprising that dogs and cats have different sleep schedules because dogs’ main sleep periods tend to align more closely with humans’ than do cats’,” Hoffman said.

Even though these comparable sleeping habits could have advantages, additional study is required to be sure. Hoffman, however, has some thoughts on how this may work.

“Dogs may be better at accommodating their human’s sleep schedule than human bed partners,” she added. Human bed mates often go to bed and wake up at times that are significantly different from one another.

Sleep may undoubtedly be disturbed by such timetable discrepancies between spouses. It’s possible that dog bed companions adjust to their owner’s schedule more easily than human bed partners do.
