After a fight about children playing, a White lady was found guilty of manslaughter with a handgun and shot her Black neighbor to death.

 

Clad in a black frock and a purple sweater, Lorincz remained still throughout the reading of the judgment and the jury’s vote. In the front row, friends and family members of the victim sobbed.

Outside the Ocala courtroom, Pamela Dias, the mother of the victim, told reporters, “This has been a long journey to get to this day, to get to this verdict.”

“The jury, the prosecution, and the verdict have all impressed me much. With that decision, I feel somewhat at ease.

We’ve gotten some justice for Ajike, even if my daughter and the children’s mother are gone forever. We’re headed toward healing, and my heart feels a bit lighter now.

The victim’s four children were still receiving therapy, according to a family spokesman, and the court now had the authority to apply the worst punishment possible.

The victim’s family was “profoundly grateful” for the guilty decision, according to attorney Ben Crump.
