The founder of the charity, Nadim Ednan-Laperouse OBE, said that “the evidence linking vape smoke and allergic reactions is still emerging.”
And that reports of allergic reactions from secondhand vape smoke were “extremely concerning.”
Ewan Fisher is one example of this; after vaping for a few months, he became unwell at the age of sixteen.
He had to be put on life support in 2017 after experiencing a “catastrophic” respiratory failure, which ultimately led to his transfer to Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Fisher had treatment for hypersensitivity pneumonitis, a condition in which an allergic response to an inhaled substance causes inflammation of the lung tissue.
