It was an iconic embrace: Tara Davis-Woodhall, a star for Team USA, rushed into her husband Hunter’s arms after winning gold in
the women’s long jump final at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In a joyful embrace, he joyfully exclaimed, “Babe, you’re the Olympic champion!”
Even though Davis-Woodhall hasn’t been paying attention, the video became viral in no time.
At the Team USA residence, the 25-year-old track and field athlete told PEOPLE, “I haven’t been on social media that much,
so I don’t know how viral it’s gone!” I’ve heard that the whole world has been watching it, but it’s just Hunter and me. I believe the entire world got to see his unwavering support for me; he’s my greatest fan.
Davis-Woodhall is now expected to rally behind him, as she proudly wears a gold medal around her neck. Woodhall, a sprinter who has lost both of her legs, will be competing in the Paralympics that start on August 28.
