As part of a team that also included Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera, the 27-year-old gymnast won the gold medal on Tuesday, July 30, in Paris.
Biles, in typical joyful style, proceeded to social media to announce her victory and stomp on some toes, addressing some nasty remarks her team had received from a former member of Team USA in the days leading up to the competition.
She captioned a few images of the squad from the event with the words “lack of talent, lazy, Olympic champions.”.
The message surprised some fans, but it brought up memories of Mykayla Skinner’s harsh remarks about the rest of the gymnastics team when they were officially announced on June 30.
Earlier this week, Skinner made the remarks that provoked Biles’ response when she posted a video to YouTube ruminating on the choices.
Besides Simone, I don’t think the quality and depth are as good as they once were, Skinner said in the now-deleted video.
I mean, it’s evident that a lot of females aren’t as dedicated. The lack of work ethic is evident among the females.
Jamie Squire/Getty is the creditor. Naturally, she issued an Instagram apologies after receiving flak on social media for her remarks.
I really did not want to denigrate the athletes or make them feel bad about all their hard work. In a letter dated July 6, Skinner congratulated the whole team on their hard work and devotion.
After giving it some thought, I realized that I was drawing parallels between our contemporary age and the “Marta Era.
” My cruel statements may have sprung from the emotional and verbal abuse I suffered at Marta’s hands, and I am now realizing that I have not adequately addressed this issue. Her apology was heartfelt, and she admitted her mistake.
She went on to say that she hoped to “continue healing” so that everyone could be in a “positive environment for all.”
My warmest wishes to you in Paris. You have my full support! “Cheer up, USA!” she said. But Biles wasn’t about to take it lying down—and rightfully so!
It seemed as if Skinner could not stand seeing the gold medalist’s post anymore after it went viral, so she banned her ex-teammate.
Biles posted the following on X: “oop I’ve been blocked,” accompanied with the eyes and smiling face emojis.
Ouch! That’s a lot of salt, but if you’re going to be salty, you may as well be ready for the repercussions, huh?
oop I’ve been blocked 👀🫢😂

Another person commented, “The trash usually takes itself out,” while yet another said, “I guess she f***** around & found out.”
As for the third, they wrote: “Jealousy is a bad look on her.” Then what is the takeaway message here? When it comes to Simone Biles, you don’t want to mess with her.
