Our display is limited to shot putters, but we have our own flair and can accomplish huge, flashy things just like any sprinter or jumper. Therefore, we are also deserving of such recognition.
Wearing a mask during competition is nothing new for Saunders. Their wild fashion choices in the last several years have made them famous.
In fact, Saunders’ Instagram included photos from a plethora of contests in which they wore various masks,
including one that resembled the grin of the DC Comics character The Joker and another that resembled the grimace of the Hulk (the latter being Saunders’ moniker).
The U.S. competitor will be looking to improve upon their silver medal performance at the 2012 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
