By stating that she was fired from a program after reporting about inappropriate behavior, Carol Vorderman has taken aim at the poisonous culture of television.
The former Countdown host cautions that the accusations of wrongdoing against Gregg Wallace are just the beginning in a field beset by structural problems.
“It’s about keeping people down, especially women,” the 63-year-old said. And Gregg Wallace isn’t the only one.
This kind of behavior has been occurring for years and is rather common. The celebrity recounted an instance in which she was never invited back to an event after complaining about improper behavior.
You may not be shocked to learn that I have complained about a number of individuals, she said. Needless to say, I get fired.
However, I can’t recall which program I was complaining about in the previous several years, and I never showed up again after that. It continues to this day.
