Shortly after 10 p.m. on Sunday, the White House released a statement claiming that Colombia has accepted all of Trump’s demands,
“including the unrestricted acceptance of all illegal aliens from Colombia returned from the United States, including on U.S. military aircraft, without limitation or delay.”
Additionally, the statement said that until Colombia broke the agreement with the United States, Trump’s planned International Emergency Economic Powers Act would not take effect.
“The visa sanctions issued by the State Department and enhanced inspections from Customs and Border Protection.
Will remain in effect until the first planeload of Colombian deportees is successfully returned,” added the statement. Shortly later, in a video uploaded on X,
Colombian Foreign Affairs Minister Luis Gilberto Murillo Urrutia recognized the remark and said that Colombia will welcome repatriates who are returned with respect.
