‘Conditions’ on disaster relief for wildfires in Los Angeles are suggested by Speaker Mike Johnson.

When asked whether he is open to providing cash to assist California cope with disastrous wildfires, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson indicated Monday.

That “there should probably be conditions” on aid, hinting at a potential political conflict over aiding the historically Democratic state.

“I believe there need to be restrictions on such assistance. That’s what I think. We’ll see what everyone agrees on.

We’ve all been very busy over the weekend, so I haven’t had a chance to mingle with any of the members, but it will be discussed,” Johnson said.

ABC News has requested his office to provide clarification since he did not provide any details. There will be a “serious discussion”
