Following a 7.0-magnitude earthquake, California and Oregon no longer had tsunami warnings.

With the majority of the seismic activity centered in Humboldt County, the 7.0-magnitude earthquake was one of at least 17 that shook Northern California on Thursday.

There were at least four documented occurrences in the Ferndale region, and there was also a lot of activity in Petrolia, where at least ten earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 3.1 to 4.2 occurred.

In order to aid in the response, California Governor Gavin Newsom informed reporters on Thursday that he has signed an emergency proclamation.

In terms of being ready for earthquakes, it serves as a reminder of the state in which we live and the mindset that we must apply to our daily lives in California, according to Newsom.

The 7.0 earthquake began less than a mile below the surface of the Earth, making it unusually shallow.

According to Christine Goulet, director of the USGS Earthquake Science Center in Los Angeles. There were almost a dozen aftershocks recorded.
