Team members learned the youngster had an obsession with water, so they started looking for bodies of water in the area. They eventually found the boy in a pond only a few streets away.
After the youngster was cleared medically, Deputy Brough and the other deputies returned him to his parents.
They arrived at the conclusion “Like all VSO deputies, Deputy Brough has received Autism Awareness Training to help prepare for a wide variety of calls involving people with autism, including missing children.”
