She expressed her concerns to the Telegraph on her ability to pay for any further treatment she may need if her illness becomes worse.
Margolyes said, “I’m concerned that when I eventually become paralyzed or whatever it is that’s going to happen to me, I won’t have enough money for carers.”
Numbness, soreness, and restricted movement are some of the effects of spinal stenosis on Margolyes’s day-to-day activities, yet she is adamant about continuing her career.
“I’m hesitant to give up performing when I know I don’t have much time left—I’m going to pass away in the next five to six years, if not sooner. It’s quite joyful,” she said.
