a little more leeway to get out of bed and wake up at your own pace—you might want to reevaluate your sleep routine because it might be more detrimental than helpful.

Last month, nurse Jordan posted an explanation on her TikTok profile on how setting “multiple” alarms in the morning might be harmful to your health.

“Waking up to multiple alarms every morning really disrupts your REM cycle frequently,” she says in the video.

In addition to increasing cortisol levels, this causes sleep inertia, excessive sleepiness, exhaustion, and mood changes.
