I’m glad TikTok is prohibiting kids from using beauty filters since they destroyed my childhood.

You seem like Kim Kardashian’s sixth sibling, a Victoria’s Secret model, or someone who has had several radical changes made to them.

Since TikTok hadn’t been created yet, these filters were accessible in their early iterations on Instagram and Snapchat when I was a teenager in 2013.

My life and how I saw myself were still dominated by the filters I employed back then, despite the fact that they were not as sophisticated as those available now.

I’m happy to learn that TikTok will shortly limit the selection of beauty filters available to teenagers. In response to growing worry and declining self-esteem among younger generations.

Under-18s will not be allowed to use filters to artificially enlarge their eyes, plump their lips, or smooth their skin texture in the next weeks.

The playful filters that add puppy noses or bunny ears will not be subject to the limits; only the more extreme ones will.
