On Monday, December 9, Mangione, 26, was arrested at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s and accused of homicide. Mangione, an Ivy League graduate and native of Maryland,
Threw tantrums at the media when he appeared in court on Tuesday, December 10, to contest his extradition to New York.
He is still being held in a Huntingdon state jail and has 14 days to appeal the bail decision.
Mangione is also charged with forgery, possession of an unauthorized handgun, and giving fake identity to law authorities in Pennsylvania in addition to the murder accusation.
Around 6:46 a.m. local time on Wednesday, December 4, a masked attacker shot and killed 50-year-old Brian Thompson outside the Hilton Hotel on Sixth Avenue in Midtown Manhattan.
