According to NASA, the astronauts may have to return to the International Space Station on the SpaceX Dragon Crew-9 mission.
The launch of the spacecraft is scheduled for September, and it will be February before Butch and Suni can return home.
There are a lot of moving parts with this new strategy, and it would be quite embarrassing for Boeing if a crew from Boeing returned from a SpaceX mission.
While other astronauts are on the ISS, Butch and Suni are still there to provide a hand. But time is of the essence, since they are adding stress on the resources on board the International Space Station.
