Latest injury news about Olympic diver who fell flat on her face after crashing onto a board during a dive

American diver Alison Gibson, who hurt herself in a nasty fall off the springboard earlier this week, has updated the public on her condition.

In the preliminary round of the women’s 3m springboard event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, 25-year-old Gibson’s feet slammed against the springboard as she was tucked in.

As the American’s feet made contact with the board, she plummeted into the water below, resulting in a failed dive and an audible gasp from the spectators.

Concerns about Gibson’s possible injuries arose after his mid-dive smash against the board; yet, the diver persevered

through the discomfort to finish the competition. “I stomped my heels and my feet on the board,” she said in an interview after the tournament.
