According to the Associated Press, the singer’s father, Geoff Payne, has subsequently left for Argentina to arrange for his son’s return.
He was seen entering and exiting the Casa Sur Hotel and standing close to the floral arrangements made outside by his admirers.
“Geoff paused occasionally to put on his glasses to read the notes written in English and picked up the pictures to kiss them,” Sky journalist Martha Kelner said as a grieving audience watched.
“He also thanked fans for being there.”
“He was shown a room with a similar layout, but he was not allowed into the exact room—which is still the subject of an ongoing investigation,” she said.
