Off the coast of Northern California, a 7.0-magnitude earthquake was recorded; a tsunami warning was discontinued.

 

According to the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, no injuries have been recorded as of yet, on Thursday.

According to the USGS, earthquake early warning system shake alarms were sent as far south as Salinas, California, and as far north as Lincoln City, Oregon.

“System was activated and performed as designed,” according to the USGS. The USGS said the notifications reached at least half a million individuals.

According to the USGS, there is now a 34% likelihood of a magnitude 5 earthquake happening within the next week and a 5% possibility of an earthquake of magnitude 6 or higher.
