Ross Ulbricht, the creator of Silk Road, is pardoned by President Trump despite receiving a life sentence.

 

He received 40 years in addition to two life sentences. Horrible! Brandon Sample, Ulbricht’s lawyer, thanked the president for the pardon.

Ross Ulbricht and his family will always be grateful to President Trump for his exceptional gesture of kindness in pardoning him completely and without conditions. In an email to The New York Post,

Sample said, “This decision offers Ross the opportunity to begin anew, to rebuild his life, and to contribute positively to society after enduring more than ten years of incarceration.”

“For Ross and his loved ones, this is the culmination of a long and difficult journey, and they are incredibly grateful for this transformative act of justice and mercy,” the statement said.

The 40-year-old Ulbricht was taken into custody in San Francisco in October 2013. Under the alias “Dread Pirate Roberts,” he ran Silk Road,
