Authorities in Hawaii said that a lifeguard and surf instructor who has been in films such as Blue Crush and Pirates of the Caribbean:
On Stranger Tides died on Sunday after what they believed to be a shark attack on the North Shore of Oahu.
The 49-year-old Tamayo Perry was a revered waterman on the North Shore who had been a part of Honolulu Ocean Safety for eight years, as stated by Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi.
“One of our incredibly dedicated City and County of Honolulu lifeguards tragically lost his life today in an apparent shark attack on the North Shore,
” Blangiardi said, expressing great regret over the death. “At this very trying time, our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones and his colleagues in Ocean Safety.”
