The Parliament of South Korea votes to remove President Yoon Suk Yeol from office due to his imposition of martial law.

Yoon is not allowed to leave South Korea. Due to martial rule enforcement, Yoon’s defense minister, police chief, and two other high-ranking officials have been imprisoned.

He is immune from criminal prosecution by the presidential privilege, although this protection does not apply to accusations of treason or insurrection.

However, because of the possibility of conflicts with his presidential security service, many are skeptical that officials would take him into custody by force.

The 2024 last full moon will be a rare lunar occurrence.
