Three days separate the deaths of Conan O’Brien’s parents, who were married for sixty-six years.

Late-night comedian Conan O’Brien’s parents, Dr. Thomas O’Brien and his wife Ruth Reardon O’Brien, passed just three days apart.

Ruth was 92 and Thomas was 95. According to The Boston Globe, Thomas passed away on Monday, December 9, after “his health had been failing.”

The Bell-O’Dea Funeral Home in Brookline, Massachusetts, posted an obituary stating that his wife passed away “peacefully” on December 12.

After 66 years of marriage, the pair had six children together, including Conan, 61, who attributed his passion of stand-up comedy to his father.

Conan was contacted by PEOPLE for comment, but the former Tonight Show host told The Globe about his father’s passing.

Classic comedies like Charlie Chaplin, Jack Benny, and the Marx Brothers were shown to Thomas’s kids.

At his wedding, the charming centerpiece notes written by the groom’s fourth graders stole the spotlight.

The referee who attended the winning school made an absurd decision that marred a historic high school wrestling rivalry.
