A distraught woman who just lost her husband and small daughter in a horrific train disaster has pleaded with the public not to donate to her broken family out of concern that unscrupulous individuals may use their tragedy to commit internet scams.
A number of Poonam Runwal’s relatives, including her sister and brother-in-law, are flying into Sydney on Tuesday night to be with her as she deals with the terrible tragedy. This is the reason for her heartfelt request.
The mother-of-two, Anand, was out on a family trip with her husband, a 40-year-old IT engineer, and their twin daughters, Hilal and Hiya,
who were two years old on Sunday when, at around 12:25 pm, the girls’ stroller slid into the train tracks at Carlton Station in southern Sydney.
Tragically, Mr. Runwal and one of his daughters, Hilal, were murdered when a passing train hit them as they frantically jumped onto the tracks to save them. Almost unharmed was her sister Hiya.
