In a statement sent to E! News, the business affirmed its belief in Starliner’s capabilities and flight reasoning, and said that CFT is now a crewed mission. ”
If NASA decides to change the mission, we will take the actions necessary to configure Starliner for an uncrewed return.”
According to the BBC, NASA officials said at a news conference on August 7 that “no firm decisions” about the future steps had been taken.
The problem, however, is that seats aren’t always available or affordable. In addition to Wilmore and Williams, there are currently four other Americans and three Russians aboard the International Space Station.
The Associated Press reported that there are spacecraft available to return astronauts to Earth at the space station, but all of the seats are taken by members of other missions.
