In an unsettling coincidence, the Passions episode in which the actor’s character died was shown by the network on the day of the actor’s death.
His character was initially supposed to make a comeback later in the series as an angel, but after his passing, those plans were shelved, and the episode was devoted to his memory.
The episode had been recorded weeks in advance. “We are deeply saddened by the sudden and tragic loss of Josh Ryan Evans,”
NBC said at the time. “He had a great energy and a very unique gift. “He will be sorely missed by his Passions family and by all of us at NBC.”
