Victim of first-ever live-televised suicide said devastating last words before horrific death

 

A technical issue prevented her from airing the taped video of a local shooting that was supposed to serve as the program opener.

Next, the camera returned to Chubbuck as she delivered her haunting last lines from a screenplay she had prepared.

She informed us: “In keeping with Channel 40’s policy of bringing you the latest in ‘blood and guts’, and in living colour, you are going to see another first – attempted suicide.”

Her last remarks were those. She leaned forward after placing her rifle in her right ear and pulling the trigger.
