‘The IOC has taken notice of and welcomed the explanation made by the Paris 2024 Organising Committee regarding the Opening Ceremony,’ the International Olympic Committee said in a statement later.

The organizing committee stated that there was never any attempt to be disrespectful to any religious organization or creed during the daily news conference.

They reaffirmed that celebrating community and tolerance was always their goal with the Opening Ceremony.

The organizing committee also expressed their regret, saying that any offense caused by any of the situations was entirely accidental.
