‘Wicked’ poster modified by fan reacts to Cynthia Erivo calling it the’most insulting thing’ she’s ever seen

The comment was followed by Erivo’s latest poster release, which included the text, “Let me put this right here, to remind you and cleanse your palette.” Only a few days later, the edit’s creator has finally come forward.

“Okay, so I’ve decided to repost this – the last few days have been wild & have helped me realize that the initial reaction was largely overblown,” the social media user said on X (now Twitter).

“This is, and always was, an innocent fan edit to pay homage to the original Broadway poster, and there’s nothing wrong with that,” they said.

“I’m coming out of the woodworks because I’ve also seen other individuals claim credit for this, and I don’t believe that’s fair at all.

“While I deleted initially as I felt it was the right thing to do, fan posters have been around for as long as movies have existed.”
