“We were standing outside when we heard a loud bang,” a neighbor told the Scottish Sun. After a few minutes, the street was crowded with ambulances and police.
A man with a slashed lip and a ruptured nose emerged from the scene. Someone had been stuck in the top of the bus, according to a police officer.
Another person reported that an elderly woman was transported in an ambulance. Around 6 p.m., First Bus reported.
That one of its buses on Glasgow’s 4A route was “involved in a bridge strike incident” when “a double decker bus hit a railway bridge” on Cook Street.
“We’re aware of numerous injuries, with one person being taken to hospital in an ambulance,” a spokeswoman said.
