According to the school, Cracker Barrel “refused service” to special education pupils at the Maryland location.

Schneider went on in her email to say, “The servers were blatantly rude to our staff and ignored all of our students during this time.”

They refused to serve them and didn’t even inquire as to whether our pupils would want a drink or anything else.

It may be difficult to wait for food and drinks to go, but our pupils were really well-behaved and waited at the tables patiently.”

Schneider said that the children were sent to wait outside on the school bus after an hour or so of waiting.

They returned to the primary school to have lunch. When called Friday afternoon for comment on the encounter, Schneider did not immediately reply.

A “staffing challenge” affected the group’s experience, Cracker Barrel stated in a statement sent to USA TODAY.
