While his camera is still going, he can be heard screaming as he seems to get bitten. Then he adds, “Be quiet, be quiet.”
According to accounts, the guard was subsequently eaten by the lions after the video cuts. Two of the lions were tranquillized by the rescuers, while the third was shot dead.
“The lions killed him and partially consumed his body,” according to an official statement. Only four hours after the incident did other zoo employees discover the man’s corpse.
