Cardinale pointed at the three words “deny,” “depose,” and “defend” printed on the casings and said, “They want to commit the perfect crime, but they’re doing things to let them know that it is me.”
He continued by mentioning pictures of the suspect seen unmasked at an Upper West Side hostel where police said he had been sleeping, saying.
“I mean, him showing his face, he had to know that there was a camera there and he showed his face.”
One of the stills of the suspect’s face, partially obscured by a hood, showed him beaming broadly at a female desk clerk at the Hi New York City on Amsterdam Avenue.
He seemed unconvinced, but he replied, “Perhaps it was just for that flirtatious moment that they discussed.”
“But since she had a conversation with him, the hostel clerk, I even mentioned that’s someone I’d like to talk to.”
