Apple agrees to provide $95,000,000 to consumers after a lawsuit alleging Siri eavesdropped on private conversations.

Since the ‘Hey, Siri’ capability was added by Siri between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024, tens of millions of members may be entitled to earn a portion of the settlement if their device allegedly utilised unauthorised recordings.

Along with confirming that it has erased any private conversations that Siri may have recorded, Apple must also provide consumers with more information about how their speech data is handled.

The plaintiffs’ attorneys may also want $1.1 million for settlement fund expenditures and another $28.5 million in fees.

With a net income of $93.74 billion in its most recent fiscal year, the $95 million is thought to cover around nine hours of profit for Apple.
